Paul Van Binst will provide a critical look at about 20 years of evolution of research networks in Europe. He will address the quantitative and qualitative aspects of this evolution, with a view on the development of new functionalities. Did we reach the goals we set ourselves long time ago? Which ones did we miss or sacrifice? Where do research networks (or "eInfrastructures") stand in today's fast evolving ICT, media and mobile landscape? Do we need "more" research networks? More of what?
